We don’t care what you see on the mountains — it’s not supposed to snow in the desert. Yet there was the Palazzo, in defiance of nature herself, letting snow fall down from the second-floor balcony over its polar bear topiary on Wednesday as part of the their holiday display kickoff.
This is a neat idea, but it ups the ante for wintertime decorating at other casinos around town. We assume it’s only a matter of time before someone gets the bright idea to make it snow so hard on a casino floor that it’ll require shovels and school closures.
Only then will the real experience of living in a snowy climate be truly replicated — being trapped in one spot and hoping the power doesn’t go out because you don’t want your nightly plans to consist of huddling under eight blankets and hoping you can find candles. It’s something to shoot for next year.
