It’s one of the slowest weekends of the year, but there are still a few things going on over the Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Regret Saturday/Panic Sunday stretch. Tonight, for example, Coolio heads up Old School Wednesday at Lavo, so you can party like it’s 1997. Tao does its Sixth Annual Terminate the Turkey, providing you the convenient excuse you need to duck your relatives after dinner tomorrow. If making money is your bag, Haze has a $5,000 Dirty Pilgrim contest.

Over the weekend, Haze has Diplo for an official F*** Me I’m Famous throwdown, while The Bank does a Black Friday Retail Party. Morrissey is at The Cosmopolitan Friday night, and comedian Jim Gaffigan headlines The Mirage Friday and Saturday. Finally, for those looking for a nonstop wall of Christmas music to begin as soon as humanly possible, Mannheim Steamroller is at the Thomas & Mack on Saturday.

The Reverend Horton Heat is at the Hard Rock Cafe tonight with Nashville Pussy ($25, 8 p.m..). A couple years ago, both those bands were playing with Motorhead, but Lemmy had some sort of vocal problem and had to cancel (apparently his voice just wasn’t gravely enough or something). Nashville Pussy came out and kicked ass all over the place, then The Rev played a double set to make up for the lost Motorhead time. Including a cover of Ace of Spades. That kind of fan service badassery doesn’t come around very often.

You think that chair is part of the show’s set, but Copperfield actually brings it with him everywhere he goes.

The world’s most popular magician made himself appear at a performance of Absinthe last night as David Copperfield took in the show at Caesars Palace.
Copperfield watched the bizarre circus-set production and later met with the performers including the show’s host, The Gazillionaire. We can only assume that Copperfield, whose shows have only grossed a mere $1 billion, was properly humbled by The Gazillionaire’s collection of top hats and monocles. Those are things rich people buy, right?
